Job Description
Senior Systems Engineer (New Kensington, PA)
Shape next-generation sleep therapy and ventilation devices by defining system requirements, ensuring hardware and software work together seamlessly, and making the engineering trade-offs that deliver safe, compliant, and scalable products.
Your role:
- Align and reconcile stakeholder inputs across complex programs to define strategic scope, success criteria, and system‑of‑systems objectives. Ensure requirements, data models, and lifecycle strategies are traceable and tied to measurable business outcomes.
- Lead system architecture, integration strategy, and interface management across multiple projects to ensure interoperability and reduce integration risk. Resolve cross‑project conflicts through standardized interfaces, phased integration planning, and coordinated testing governance.
- Drive platform strategy, modularization, and system‑level trade‑offs using modeling, simulation, and data analytics. Balance reuse, cost, schedule, and differentiation while scaling validated methodologies and reusable platform roadmaps.
- Establish robust quality, regulatory, and risk frameworks, including supplier performance, hazard analysis, cybersecurity, and configuration governance. Ensure compliance by interpreting regulations, supporting submissions, and prioritizing mitigation and release strategies across programs.
- Champion multidisciplinary collaboration, usability, reliability, and lifecycle value, integrating sustainability and circular economy principles into design and product management. Leverage AI and data technologies in system design while coaching systems engineers and strengthening engineering best practices.
You're the right fit if:
- You have 5+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of experience with a master's degree, in a regulated medical device environment, with a focus on systems engineering, system architecture, system integration, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Preferred qualifications include systems engineering certification, such as INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), or continuous improvement certification, such as Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Your skills include:
- Experience in new product development translating business and user needs into clear product requirements, supporting architecture decisions, maintaining traceability across design, verification, validation, and risk management, and resolving complex electromechanical integration issues.
- You are comfortable leading cross-functional technical discussions, resolving ambiguity, and aligning engineering, product management, quality, regulatory, and program stakeholders around practical system-level solutions.
- You are a collaborative technical leader who communicates clearly, thinks at the system level, and can balance patient safety, product performance, compliance, schedule, and business needs in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position .
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.
This is an office role.
