Description
Project Engineer - ConstructionOur client is seeking a Project Engineer to add to their growing team.
Project Engineer Responsibilities
Maintain a master set of contract drawings, specifications, and write-ups for project team's use.
Issue electronic file of current set for superintendent and subcontractor use.
Administer submittal process and identify required submittals by spec and drawing, collect, log, review, submit if need be or approve as required.
Participate in weekly progress meetings and contribute to the proper preparation and documentation of the meeting to communicate with Team.
Visually track and Monitor field progress of all trades. Be able to step-in for Superintendent for short term assistance.
Coordinate the shop drawing with field installation. Assist trade sub-contractors with coordination between trades.
Coordinate subcontractor communication/distribution of shop drawings, submittals, between affected subcontractors.
Experience with contract scope writing, Change Orders, Owner Change Order Requests.
Develop a detailed project schedule from Bid Documentation, conceptual information and/or detailed plans and specifications.
Understand durations in a project schedule from quantities of work and production rates.
Identify schedule impacts from changes or problems that arise in the field.
Able to identify areas of concern for material deliveries as it relates to the construction schedule.
Able to identify an unsafe condition.
Maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid and OSHA 10.
Assist with Proposal preparation.
Able to construct bid packages for scope, issue bids, receive and interpret proposals.
Assist with Pre-Construction services including but not limited to application and permitting
Able to prepare trade subcontracts.
Understand feedback from Customers, AE's, Subcontractor's, etc., and work well with a Team.
Accomplish or move forward with tasks that require the support and resources of others for input later
Understand, interpret, and enforce contract documents (drawings, technical specifications, front-end documents, Owner scopes and subcontractors' scopes, etc.)
Understand the Construction Specifications Institute's (CSI) divisions about materials and equipment installation and level of quality.
Instill and implement value engineering ideas to save cost and/or improve schedule or quality.
Project Engineer Requirements
2+ years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry
High school diploma
